We have been visted by a creature from a foreign land. We have some unhealthy ash trees and we thought that it was just from the stress of the construction project (that is what nearly killed us, so why would the trees be any different). Over memorial day weekend we spotted several of these emarald colored buggers - the dreaded Emerald Ash Borer. Another gift from our Chinese Friends.

what a bummer! Have you figured out how to treat/deal with the issue? These stupid bugs have killed entire sections of forest in the West.
There are two ways to deal with it.
Option 1: If you catch it early you can treat the trees with a VERY expensive solution.
Option 2: Destroy all your ash trees within a 1 mile radius, and replant.
Option 2 is cheaper and more successful :)
